Happy Mother's Day. I wish you a wonderful celebration of motherhood, whether or not you're a mother. I hope it’s full of joy as you contemplate the seat of human life, the connection between and to mothers, and modern motherhood.

The cognitive dissonance is palpable. We’re celebrating motherhood while future generation’s agency to choose it hangs uncertainly for the first time in nearly half a century.

Veneka is pro-choice and pro-mothers. Fashion is the world’s greatest exploiter of working women. 80% of garment workers are female and most earn below a livable wage. Many are mothers whose jobs put them at high risk for physical, verbal and sexual harm. From day one, we decided that every item curated would provide safe conditions and fair pay, in addition to being sustainable and cruelty-free. We’ve stayed committed even when it meant saying no to brands and hindering growth. We're proud to curate brands that go above and beyond to support mothers. 

I gave birth to my first child, COVID-19 started and the pandemic simultaneously gutted us. I’m immensely grateful that my daughter is thriving and we can continue to improve Veneka for you. It’s a privilege to make your closet a supportive tool for your best life and the world you wish for.
